So Long

"It would take a very long time for them to find you down here." Seraph said. "If you placed your wards here, we'd be set for years." He thought about what he'd just said and looked down, a wave of regret washing over him. "Sorry, I meant you'd be set for years."

She frowned a little and looked down as well. "I've spent so long fighting, I can't remember what it's like not to. After you leave.. I'll probably leave this place too." She told him honestly, pushing away the tide of emotion that followed that statement. The weight of her words hitting her after all of these years. All she ever searched for was peace, suddenly she realized she will never have it. Even if the angels stopped pursuing her, this nomadic life on the run was so ground into her flesh and bones that she doubted she would ever be able to sit still again.
